I’m a Virginia-based watercolorist whose paintings feature a wide range of topics from nature to travel scenes and everyday life. My artwork aims to engage the viewer with what surrounds us and, particularly, with the natural world. As an avid birdwatcher and wildlife enthusiast, some of my favorite subjects are birds. Rendering them in watercolor is my favorite part of the painting process, as I can play with their colors, textures, and shapes, and have fun portraying their expressions and poses.
You can find out more about me and my artwork, and buy my paintings online or see some of my pieces in person at The Art League Gallery in Alexandria, Virginia.

Juror commentary on Songbirds of the Andes
"In Cecilia Capestany’s “Songbirds of the Andes” the balance of the strong colors, especially with the exquisite turquoise, and delicate line work, made for an overall strong composition and painting."
